Winston Eual Meadows

Winston "Wes" Meadows, age 77 of Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, January19, 2023 at Morrow County Hospital. He was born on May 14, 1945, to Ebb S. and Ethel M. (Vance) Meadows who both preceded Wes in death.

Wes worked in maintenance at several businesses during his career including Erie Lackawanna railroad, Grumman Flexible, Anheuser-Bush, and Prairie Meat Packing.

Wes enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and bluegrass music. He liked being busy and loved old cars. He was an OHSAA official and served as a basketball referee and a baseball and softball umpire. Most of all, Wes loved spending time with his family.

On Dec. 3, 1962, in Cumberland, MD., Wes married the former Judy L. Tweeddle and she survives.

In addition to his wife Judy, Wes is survived by his children; Tara (Josh) Chalfant of Edison, Troy (Lisa) Meadows of Richwood, and Travis Meadows of Chesterville; grandchildren, Trissa Meadows, Quinton Chalfant, Savannah Stevens, Amber Brady, and Paige Chalfant; and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Winston was preceded in death by his brother "Wimpy" and two sisters, Dolly and Viola.

Friends may call on Friday February 3, 2023, from 4:00 until 7:00PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held on Saturday Feb. 4, 2023, at 10:00AM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Cemetery.
