Wilma J. (Daniel) Crum-Thomas, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, age 85 of Ashley, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Morrow Manor. She was born on July 9, 1939, in Paintsville, KY to the late James C. and Neva F. (Daniels) Daniel.
Wilma was a homemaker; her greatest accomplishment was her children. She cherished her family very much. Wilma will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and her passion for crafting. Throughout her life, she found joy in making and selling crafts, showcasing her talent and creativity. A loving grandmother, Wilma, enjoyed playing with her grandchildren. She adored singing with her granddaughter, creating joyful moments filled with music and laughter. Wilma also shared a beautiful musical bond with her late husband, James, and together they made an album, The Three Nails, her and James traveled around Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana singing on the radio. Her grandchildren will forever remember the special Christmas tradition of gathering in a circle as she lovingly read the story of Jesus' birth from the Bible. A devoted member of the Eastside Mission Church in Delaware, Ohio, Wilma's faith was a guiding light in her life, as she brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
On November 4, 1953, Wilma married James Crum in Indiana, he preceded her in death. Wilma married her second husband Jack Thomas, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 2017.
Wilma leaves behind her loving daughter, Jennifer (Timothy) Stevens, her grandchildren: Brian, Shellaina, Crystal, John "JR", James, Harleen and Samuel, several great-grandchildren, along with her dear sisters, Kay (Ray) Kelley and Linda Kelley.
In addition to her parents, first husband James Crum and her second husband Jack Thomas, Wilma was preceded in death by her two daughters Debbie Bollack and Sandy Crum, as well as her brothers, Clarence, Troy, Elmer, and Ernest Daniel.
Friends may call on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the start of the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Winsor Cemetery.
