William J Helmbold

William J. Helmbold, age 75 of Mount Gilead, died on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Galion Point Nursing Home. He was born on September 6, 1947, in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Joseph & Sarah Helmbold.


After graduation from high school, Bill went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was self-employed as a Carpenter and had worked on many construction jobs over the years.


Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool in his spare time. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke and often could be found on the dance floor with the love of his life, Gloria MacMichael. Bill also enjoyed working on cars and could fix almost any issue, he also liked to box in his younger years as well as watching it professionally on TV. He was the biggest Philadelphia Eagles fan and would take any opportunity he could to watch them play. Above all else, Bill was a great man. He loved taking care of people and would do anything he could to help them out.

Bill is survived by his companion of 42 years, Gloria MacMichael of Bucyrus; three stepchildren: Jimmy (Kim) Forbis of Larue, Tony (Mandy) Forbis of Iberia, and Pam MacMichael of Bucyrus; two sisters: Gracie Brewster of Secklerville, NJ and Muriel Diaunzio of Glaucester, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

In honoring Bill's wishes, no formal services will be held.
