Walter Edwin Hoffman

Walter E. Hoffman, Jr., age 88, of Marion died Friday evening Oct. 14, 2022, at Woodside Village Care Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Marion to the late Walter E. and Mary E. (Lehner) Hoffman, Sr.

Walter served in the U.S. Navy and had worked at NAPA Auto Parts. Walter was best known for his "Mister Fix It Abilities" and could often be found at Hoffman Meats using those skills.

On July 3, 1955, Walter married the former Kathryn Heinlen and she survives. Other survivors include a son; Michael (Carley) Hoffman of Marengo; daughter Jill (Dean) Crosby of Edison; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his siblings, Larella Hoffman, Helen Hoffman, Bernice Hart, Betty Vermillion, Paul, Kenneth, Lloyd, and Merle "Herb" Hoffman.

Friends may call on Thursday Oct. 20, 2022, from 1:00PM until the start of the funeral service at 2:00PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315. Pastor Mike Sanders of the Father's House Church will officiate, and the burial will follow in the Waldo Cemetery.
