Virginia (Daniel) Connolly

Virginia Connolly, beloved mother age 89 of Cardington passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was one of seventeen children born on November 1, 1935, in Wallins Creek, Kentucky to the late Roy and Sarah (Caldwell) Daniel.

Virginia loved her family second only to God. She worked hard all her life and loved even harder. She was very proud to have studied and received her GED in her forties. She wanted to say she only went to sixth grade but had her diploma. She loved shopping thrift stores and getting a good deal.

On January 30, 1982, Virginia married Raymond Connolly in Mount Gilead. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2005.

Left to cherish Virginia's memory is her son David Sharpe of Columbus, her daughter Sharon Vickery of Cardington and her daughter-in-law Cindy Sharpe of Fulton; grandchildren Tara Garcia, Jeremiah (Deanna) Sharpe, and Will (Ciarra) Vickery; six great-grandchildren and her siblings Doris McCarter of OH, Dorothy (Mike) Shackleford of KY, Betty Jo (Bill) Blanton of OH, Barbara Osborn of OH, Mary Daniel of KY, and Linda (Steve) Curtis of TN.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two sons: Danny Sharpe and Raymond Connolly, her granddaughter Roseanne Sharpe; her four brothers: Edker Daniel (Chris), Leroy Daniel (MaryJane), Will Daniel (Della) Charles Caleb Daniel (Wanda); as well as six sisters: Mercedes Chadwick (Bill), Sara Gilliam (Paul), Mollie Harris (Charles), Evelyn Stratton (Tom), Delilah Daukas (Mike) and Beaula Ward (Virgil)

Friends may call on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the start of the memorial service at 12:00 PM at Harmoney Baptist Church, 5142 County Road 25, Marengo, Ohio 43334.
