Thomas A. Nye, age 83 of Pickerington passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Pickerington Methodist Hospital. He was born in Columbus on June 27, 1941, to the late William R. and Mary Frances (Krick) Nye.
Thomas was a 1959 graduate of Grandview Heights High School where he participated in football, basketball, track and the Brotherhood of Rooks. After high school, he served in the United States Army. Thomas owned Nye Express Parcel Delivery Service and spent the remainder of his career as a truck driver for Western Auto in Delaware.
Thomas loved his family, he never missed an opportunity to watch his kids play sports and often went to support grandchildren in their activities. He was an avid fan of horse racing, Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In his free time Thomas enjoyed a good crossword or sudoku puzzle and watching Jeopardy.
On December 27, 1969, Thomas married his loving wife Cheryl Jeanne (Archer), she preceded him in death, November 12, 2008.
Left to cherish Thomas' memory are his loving children: Ian (Aggie) Nye of Pickerington and Nikki (Todd) Ramming of Grandview Heights; and his five grandchildren: Gordon and Alek Stewart, Halen Nye, and William and Phoebe Ramming.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brother Michael and sister-in-law Sonnie.
Friends may call on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, with a service at 6:00PM, at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington.
