Thomas Arbaugh Obituary

Thomas Arbaugh, age 81, of Marengo died Monday Jan. 11, 2021 at his home. He was born March 30, 1939 to the late Robert and Alma (Lenington) Arbaugh.

Tom had worked as a truck driver and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a “jack-of-all-trades”. This earned him the nickname of “Tinker” because he was always tinkering with all sorts of things. His talent at fixing just about anything was a gift that he utilized to be frugal. It was also a gift that drove him crazy because he was always behind in all the things he wanted to fix and/or sell.

Tom is survived by Kathy Winters with whom he has spent the last 42 years; his children, Thomas (Larry Harrell) Arbaugh, Jr. of Staunton, VA., April Bates of Reynoldsburg, Christina (David) Smith of Pataskala, and Jennifer (Phillip) Small of Fredericktown; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Steven Arbaugh, Rick Arbaugh, Joyce McCoy, and Pat Newbury.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Art and Jake Arbaugh and sister Mary McCoy.

Tom had a life-long love of animals, especially dogs. He possessed a special ability to train them to be responsive and obedient. His animals were always very special to him, and he often spoke of getting along with dogs better than he did with most people.
