Shirley Edith Kelly, age 90 of Mt. Gilead, died Monday, February 8, 2021 at home surrounded by loving family. She was lovingly cared for the past 4 months by Karen and Jerry and is now reunited with Pat. Shirley was born October 8, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to Theodore T. and Edith (Weiss) Rombach. Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio and a 1950 graduate of Akron Actual Business School.
Shirley married Patrick Kelly on April 19, 1958 and he preceded her in death September 28, 2020.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. For over 50 years she helped Pat serve congregations in Post Falls, Idaho & many in Ohio including Cardington, Jackson Center, Marysville, Jelloway, Port Jefferson and Springfield. While living in Cardington she was the assistant to the superintendent and the Treasurer of Cardington Lincoln Schools. She enjoyed their home at Indian Lake for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are children Debbie (Edwin) Williams of Walker, WV, Linda Taylor of Columbus, David (Sue) of Sunbury, Karen (Jerry) Webb of Bellville and John (Donna) Kelly of Tamarac FL. Grandchildren; Sonja Kelly, Ben George, Betsy Robison, Rachel Kelly Beeson, Laura Kelly, Allison Kelly, Andrew Webb, Michael Webb, Sarah Webb, Nick Webb, and eight Great grandchildren; Brothers Tim of Naples, FL and Rick of Chillicothe, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Tom.
Friends may call on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315. The funeral service will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Gompf Funeral Service in Cardington is honored to assist the family of Shirley Kelly with her funeral arrangements.
