Russell E. Knauber, age 80, of Cardington died Tuesday Dec.1, 2020 at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1940 in Ashley to the late George and Evelyn (Wood) Knauber.
Russell was a 1958 graduate of Elm Valley High School. He was employed by HPM and retired from Marion Power Shovel as a machinist. He and his brother co-owned a construction company and built pole barns. Russell would do anything construction related for anyone that asked. He was an on call 24 hours a day as a handyman.Russell enjoyed playing golf. He never missed a sporting event that his children and grandchildren participated in.
On March 23, 1960 in Ashley, Russell married the former Helen L. Augenstine and she survives. Addition survivors include his children; Russell (Linda) Knauber and Deborah (Frederick) Faulkner both of Cardington; four grandchildren; Russell “R.J.” (Ashley) Knauber, Ryan Knauber, Julya Faulkner and Brock Faulkner; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Roger Knauber of Delaware, Rodney Knauber of Galion, Carolyn (Larry) Quick of Delaware, and Connie Carlisle of Ostrander.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his brother Richard.
The family will observe a private funeral service and Russell’s burial will take place in the Glendale Cemetery.
