Roy Ernest Osborn

Roy E. Osborn, age 90 of Marengo, died at his home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. He was born on April 4, 1933, in South Woodbury to the late Ralph E. and Ruth (Hagga) Osborn.

Roy attended Marengo School and went on to work at HPM as a Machinist for 44 years. He was a member of the Alum Creek Friends Church where he served both as a trustee and financial officer.

In his free time, Roy thoroughly enjoyed tending to his garden and mowing the lawn. He also liked to fish any chance he could.

On January 29, 1951, Roy married Betty A. (Faulkner) and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2022.

Roy is survived by three daughters: Linda Carlisle of Marengo, Wanda Glenn of Cardington, and Evangeline (Kenneth) Hayes of Galion; three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roy was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Ruth; half-sister, Joann; three half-brothers: John, Jim, and Harry Ridebaugh and a granddaughter, Bianca Coon.

Friends may call on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Brad Duncan officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Alum Creek Friends Church Cemetery.
