Robert Richeson Obituary

Robert w. Richeson, age 93 and formerly of Cardington, died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Laurels of Mt. Vernon. He was born on August 12, 1924 to the late Paul A. and Bernice M. (McKown) Richeson. On September 17, 1944, Robert married the former Ruth A. (George) and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2012. Robert and Ruth spent 68 wonderful years of marriage together. In this time, they enjoyed 15 years together in Florida. Robert served his country in the United States Marines. He had a love for carpentry and tinkering on things; there was nothing he could not fix. Robert enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and having cookouts. He enjoyed taking walks and dancing. Before his wife's passing he loved to take Ruth out to eat. Additional survivors include two daughters; Sandra (Franklin) Pierce of Mt. Gilead and Melody (Brad Zemke) Quick of Fredericktown; a sister; Joan "Joey" Richeson of Florida; 5 Grandchildren, Rebecca (Don) Kaser, Jeff (Melissa) McAvoy, Roberta "Birdie" Woods, Jackie (Aaron) Waters, and Jennifer (Denny) Snow; 2 step grandchildren, Frankie and Max Pierce; Great-Grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Grace, Taylor (Josué) Depeux, Emily and Sarah Waters, and Aspen and Keaton Snow; Great-Great-Grandson, Keagan Kaser. In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Robert was preceded in death by four siblings; Dave and Bill Richeson, Donna Schorr, and Violet Littlefield, his two beloved cats Buttons and Dickens, and his favorite walking companion his dog Buddy. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Cemetery.
