Robert Ray Jr., age 59 of Mount Gilead, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025. He was born on October 7, 1965, in Columbus to the late Robert S. and Nancy A. (Bennett) Ray Sr.

Robert graduated from Highland High School in 1984 had worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed building model cars, completing puzzles, and R.C. cars.

Robert is survived by his siblings Donald (Lori) Ray of Mount Gilead, Ronald (Tracey) Ray of Sparta, Becky (Steve) Graham of Cardington and Delores "Dee" (Boyd) Pennington of Mt. Gilead; nieces and nephews, Ashley (David) Robinson, Stephanie Graham, Kendra Ray, Randy Ray, Jeremy (Kali) Kanniard, Stephen (Amber) Kanniard, and Cody (Kylee) Kanniard; and numerous step and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother Steve Ray.

Friends may call on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 11:00AM until the start of the funeral service at 1:00PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. Pastor Brendan Kennedy will officiate. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Marengo Cemetery.
