Richard A. Dozer, age 69 of Marengo, formerly of Columbus, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at his residence. He was born on September 27, 1956, to Charles W. and the late Caroline S. (Cunningham) Dozer.
Richard was a 1974 graduate from Whetstone High School. After graduation he went on to play baseball at Ohio State University for two years. Later, Richard attended Franklin University to obtain his bachelor's degree in drafting. He went on to work as a draftsman and was most recently employed with SimplexGrinnell.
Richard had a lifelong love for sports. Baseball was always at the center of that passion, something he enjoyed. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of Ohio State football and basketball, always cheering on his favorite team.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sue; in addition to his father, Charles "Bud"; his children, Nicholas Dozer of Columbus and Jaclyn Dozer of Marengo; his siblings, Deby (Mike) Smith of Delaware and Gene (Kathleen) Dozer of Columbus.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Caroline S. (Cunningham) Dozer.
