Richard Clinton Pickens

Richard C. Pickens, age 62 of Cardington, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 17, 1961, in Delaware to the late Richard "Dick" and Dorothy J. (Byus) Pickens.

Richard was the owner of Pickens construction and had worked hard over the years building up a clientele list. He specialized in building new houses and doing remodels.

In his free time, Richard loved to fish as well as spend time hunting in the woods. He loved his greatest companion, his dog Molly. His most memorable times were spent with his family though. If he could choose to be anywhere in the world it would be at any event that his grandchildren were involved in, showing his love and support.

On March 22, 2016, Richard married Debbie L. (Carder), and she survives. Other survivors include his children: Shannon (Shane) New, Shawnna (John) Ioffredo, Richard Pickens, Sheenna (Jared) Martin, Donovan Pickens, Dawson Pickens, and Dalton Pickens; 2 step-children: Duran (Shannon) Carder and Dustin Copely; grandchildren: Mason Davis, Caleb Davis, Makenna Spurlock, Wyatt Davis, Brenden Spurlock, Aiden Martin, Madeline McDonald, Jaxon Ioffredo, Stevie Smith, Sawyer Martin, and Judah Begin; as well as: Adalynn, Zeke, Ezra, Malachi, Zion, and CJ Carder; he is also survived by 4 siblings.

In observance of Richard's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. The family will hold a celebration of life at a future date.
