Reba May (Gothard) Herbst

Reba M. Herbst, beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, age 92 of Fulton passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Embassy of Marion. She was born on July 28, 1931, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Clyde and Marie (Cullens) Gothard.

Reba had worked as a beautician at the Huntington Store. In her free time she enjoyed riding motorcycles, she could put her helmet on and take it off without messing up a single hair on her head. Reba was a sharpshooter and was very accurate. She loved her family very much, she also loved cats and recreational sports especially water skiing.

Reba is survived by her daughter Sharon Kay Miller of Huntington, WV., her two grandchildren: Christopher Peace and Terry Peace II; two great-grandchildren: Nikki and Marie Peace as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Reba was preceded in death by her first husband William Smith, her second husband Paul Herbst, her brother Sydney Lee Gothard, and her sister Daisy Lambert.

Friends may call on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. A graveside service will take place in the Fulton Cemetery at 11:15 AM.
