Eileen Berry, age 87 of Mount Gilead died Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Marion General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 14, 1932 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late Joseph E. and Violet C. (Brandum) Kisor.
Eileen was a 1951 graduate of the Cardington Lincoln High School and had went on to work for Plastic Curtains and North Electric. She had been involved with Guys & Dolls Clothing in Marion and Sam Snacks for over 10 years. Eileen loved to work in her garden and canning what she grew. She also loved to take care of her goats and knitting blankets for each of the family members. Eileen loved seek-n-find words in books.
On May 14, 1951 in Marion, Eileen married Carl W. Berry and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2011.
Eileen is survived by 2 daughters: Judy Bartley and Jackie (Paul Dye) Berry both of Mount Gilead; 3 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Rheda (Garnie) Walker and June Waddell both of Mount Gilead; sister-in-law, Sarah Carpenter of Tulsa, OK; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death be a son, Carl L. Berry and a sister, Yvonne “Vonnie” Moore.
A private family service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington with Pastor Darryle Moody officiating. Those wishing to watch a live stream of the service can view online at Facebook.com-Gompf Funeral Service Live. A public Graveside Service will be held at the Glendale Cemetery on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 with an estimated arrival time of 1:45 PM. We ask that anyone attending the Graveside Service please abide to the “Social Distancing” parameters set by CDC.
