Ralph Ellis Niemann

Ralph E. Niemann, age 89, formerly of Groveport died at his residence on March 29, 2018. He was born on July 11, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Carl Frederick & Alice Sadie (Kemmerling) Niemann. Ralph was a 1947 graduate of Hamilton Township High School. He then went on to work for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 34 years. Outside of his telephone job, Ralph was a lifelong farmer as well. On April 2, 1949 in Columbus, Ralph married Winona Eileen (Andrews) and she survives in Cardington. In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by 6 children: Sandra (Dr. David) Steck of Cardington, Linda (Steve Grabovich) Niemann of Pataskala, David (Carol) Niemann of Lancaster, Ralph Jr. (Carolyn) Niemann of Dublin, Robert Niemann of Groveport and Julie (Jeff) Pastor of Canal Winchester; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call on Monday April 2, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00pm, at Gompf Funeral Service; 440 Center St., Cardington, OH 43315. The funeral service will take place immediately following calling hours, with Past Adam Sornchai officiating. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 11:00am at Obetz Cemetery; 4455 Groveport Rd, Obetz, OH 43207.
