Phyllis Ann (Breece) Petry

Phyllis A. Petry, age 70 of Cardington passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Marion General Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1953, in Marion to the late Ansel B. and Gloria F. (Davis) Breece.

Phyllis was a 1971 graduate from Marion Harding High School. She had worked as a meat packer for Food Town and later for Kroger until she retired.

Phyllis was a member of the American Legion Post 401 Caledonia Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching the OSU buckeyes. Phyllis bowled for many years and in recent years she really enjoyed watching her grandchildren bowl.

On August 11, 1973, Phyllis married Richard L. Petry Jr. in Cardington, he survives in Cardington.

In addition to her husband Richard, Phyllis is survived by her children: Leeanna (Trevor) Haycox of Edison and Rusty (Kayla) Petry of Cardington; five grandchildren: Ryan, Logan, Keegen, Emersen, and Kasen; and her brother Phillip Breece of Galion.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Cemetery.
