Perry C. Hatfield, age 63 of Cardington passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. He was born on January 7, 1960, to Phillip C. and Carol J, (Solinger) Hatfield.
Perry was a 1978 graduate of Mount Gilead High School. He worked as a Shipping and Receiving Expeditor for H.P.M. for 40 years.
Perry was a member of N.R.A., American Trap Association and the Antique Tractor Pulling Association. He had a love for guns and would spend time shooting and reloading his own ammo. He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, playing foosball, fishing, and hunting, especially hunting big game. Perry loved to cook and loved to critique all kinds of food.
On September 28, 2006, Perry married Shirley J. (Park) in Mount Gilead, she survives in Cardington.
In addition to his wife Shirley and his father Phillip Hatfield of Cardington, Perry is survived by his children: Paul (Angie) Etgen of Cardington and Joseph (Sarah) Etgen of Athens; four grandchildren: Allie, Mason, Wyatt, and Trip; two great-grandchildren: Kenzi and Millie; his brother Jerry (Farrah) Hatfield of Mount Gilead; as well as his nephew Trace and niece Aspen Hatfield.
Perry was preceded in death by his mother Carol Hatfield.
Friends may call on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will directly follow at 4:00 PM, with Perry's cousin Dan McGrath officiating.
"Please join us for a time of reflection and fellowship Monday evening, 5:00. We will be gathering after the calling hours and memorial service at 2500 County Road 25, Cardington. I know some will not be able to attend the services at Gompf's so please come when you can. We would love to see you. Perry would be happy knowing his family and friends had shared a meal and a memory in his honor."
