Paul Richard DeSelms

Paul R. DeSelms, age 96 of Cardington, died Thursday, March 26, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 16, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Chester A. and Leverta W. (Waltermire) DeSelms.

Paul was a graduate of Otterbein College and had went on to work for the Whirlpool Corporation until he retired. He also served honorably in the United State Navy during WWII where he served on the LST 391 in the Atlantic Fleet.

Paul was a member of the Free Mason’s and was a lifetime member of the Jenkins-Vaughn Post #97 American Legion in Cardington. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at the Annual DeSelms Family Picnic at the farm.

Paul is survived by his 2 children: Tari (Mark) Eastep and Paul “Chip” DeSelms both of Cardington, 4 grandchildren: Natalie (John Dixon) DeSelms, Dr. Kasi (Dr. Ryan King) Eastep and Nickolaus DeSelms and 3 great-grandchildren: Sladen DeSelms, Josiah and Jaron Dixon.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by infant children: Tommy and Donetta DeSelms, Grandson, Skylar Eastep and three siblings: Harold, Ray and Marie.
