Nedra Fay (Patterson) Underwood

Nedra F. Underwood, age 85 of Cardington, died on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Bennington Glen Nursing Facility. She was born on November 22, 1939, in Coshocton to the late William D. and Dorothy F. (McCormick) Patterson.

She worked for over 20 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Marion Manor, where her compassion and dedication made a lasting impact on the lives of her patients and colleagues. Beyond her career, Nedra spent two decades volunteering as an EMT for the Cardington community, embodying her unwavering commitment to service and care for those in need. Nedra was a cherished member of The Vessel church in Mount Gilead, where her faith and kindness were felt by all who knew her

On May 12, 1956, Nedra married Roy H. Underwood, spouse of 64 years, who preceded her in death on August 27, 2019.

Nedra is survived by six children: Lesley Underwood Mattorano, David (Barb) Underwood, Lynn (Amy) Underwood, Patricia Underwood (Mike) Miley, Stephanie Underwood Smith, and Shayne Underwood; and 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and Husband, Nedra was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Scott and two grandsons: Jason Osborne and Josh Underwood.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Glendale Union Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jesse McLeod officiating.
