Mary Elizabeth (Meltzer) Wells-Slone

Mary E. Wells-Slone, age 86 of Mount Gilead passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Morrow County Hospital. She was born on November 15, 1936, in Elyria to William H. and Elizabeth B. (Brown) Meltzer who preceded her in death.

Mary had worked at Arundale for 27 years.

On December 24, 1955, Mary married Raymond E. Wells in Elyria, he proceeded her in death March 14, 1996.

Mary is survived by her children: Connie (Amir) Shahabadi of Amherst, Elaine Dupler of Idaho, Raymond (Amy) Wells of Marengo, Brian Teal of Oregon, and stepson Billy Ray Wells of Mansfield, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Judy Pruchnicki of Elyria.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Haycook, her sister Deloris McCabe, and her two brothers Robert and Bill Meltzer.

A graveside service will take place Tuesday December 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM in Glendale Union Cemetery with Pastor Ed Colgrove officiating.
