Mary Lou Storer, age 81 of Cardington died Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Marion General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on December 15, 1939, to Oscar and Roxie (Ault) Stooksbury who preceded her in death.
Mary Lou had worked at Edmont Wilson Glove Factory and most recently was a partner with Iron Skillet Family Restaurant.
Mary Lou was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she was very involved with church activities. She knew American Sign Language and played the piano. Mary Lou enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and watching sports of any kind. Loved to play basketball when she was younger. Mary Lou was the Harmony Township correspondent for the Sentinel. She loved Gospel and County music. She treasured going to visit her hometown in Clinton, TN.
On April 4, 1959, she married Jack Storer in Morrow County, who preceded her in death on October 11, 1995.
Mary Lou is survived by her children Jack "Eugene" Storer of Cardington, Darlene Storer of Cardington, Lisa (Larry) Adkins of Cardington, Bonnie (Scott) Young of Johnsville, and Charlene Storer of Cardington, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her three brothers Thomas, Ralph, and James Stooksbury, and one great-grandchild Lakelyn Storer.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Jason Martin officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
