Marie (Kelley) Long

Marie Long, formerly of Cardington passed away at the Fort Hudson Health Center in New York. on January 19, 2025, just one day after her 103rd birthday. She was born on January 18, 1922, in Marion, Ohio to the late Oscar W. and Jeannie B. (Showers) Kelley. Marie lived a remarkable life, filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories

Marie was a graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School in 1940. She was a homemaker; she took pride in taking care of her husband Robert and two sons Gregor and Bradley. Throughout her life, Marie was often seen riding her bike around town, a testament to her adventurous nature and commitment to staying active, which was an inspiration to many. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church as well as the Jenkins-Vaughn Unit 97 Auxiliary. Marie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

On May 30, 1941, Marie married the love of her life Robert Eugene Long in Salem United Brethren Church, he preceded her in death on January 5, 1996.

Marie is survived by her loving son, Gregor and his wife Susan of Lake George, New York, granddaughter Dana Elizabeth, as well as numerous extended family members who will cherish the legacy of love and compassion Marie leaves behind.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her son Bradley Long, her two brothers, Henry and Marion Kelley as well as her two sisters, Virginia Ault and Margaret Corwin.
