Margaret J. May, age 89, and longtime resident of Cardington, died December 25, 2022, at the University Hospital Parma. She was born on August 23, 1933, in Nashville, Tenn. to the late Charles D. and Elizabeth (Myers) Hill.
Margaret had served as the Clerk-Treasurer of the Cardington Public Library.
Margaret had been an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She also was a member of her Prayer Group and Bridge Club. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends which meant baking pies and cakes. Her hobbies included decorating for the holidays, gardening and caring for her yard, and collecting angels. Christmas was Margaret's favorite holiday of the year.
On August 23, 1953, Margaret married Billy B. May and they spent 56 wonderful years of marriage until he passed on January 16, 2010.
Left to cherish Margaret's memories are her three children: Connie Eafford of Parma Heights, Debby (Ralph) Kinney of Bucyrus and Sherry (Scott) Sherer of Milford Center, sister: Susan Mitchell of Covington, GA.; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hill and sister, Bette Stephens.

Friends may call on Friday December 30, 2022, from Noon until the start of the Funeral Service at 1:00PM all at the Gompf Funeral Home 440, Center St. in Cardington.
