Lurynda "Lury" Marie (VanDyke) Christian

Lurynda Marie Christian, born March 5, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, died on July 22, 2026, at age 61, with family and friends by her side.

Lury graduated from Cardington-Lincoln High School in 1983 and received her Accounting Degree at Marion Technical College in 1985.

Lury was always smiling-a constancy her family and colleagues came to rely on. She brought that same steadiness to everything she did, from her perfect attendance record in high school to her more than thirty-year career in apartment management, where she served as a CFO. Her reliability and presence made her indispensable in every role she held.

Outside of work, Lury found joy in the details that made a home feel festive and warm. She had a gift for wreath making and Christmas décor, and she was a devoted Hallmark Channel enthusiast, the kind of person who knew exactly which movie belonged to which holiday and could quote them with genuine affection. She loved to read, and her home reflected her taste for beauty and comfort.

Lury is survived by her husband, Steven Christian of over 42 years (May 19th, 1984): her daughter, Michelle Moore of Cardington, Ohio; and her sisters, Kandy (Brent) Gross of Marion, OH and Kim Carr of Marion, OH. Along with several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, and her APM family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Linda Vandyke, and her son, Michael Christian.

A celebration of Lury's life will be held Friday, July 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Service, 440 Center Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315, with Pastor Jonathan Smith officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the Morrow County Fairgrounds, Office Back Room following the service.
