Linda Lee VanDyke, 80, of Avon Park, FL, and Cardington, OH, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1944, in Columbus, OH, to the late James and Blanche Rigney.
Linda dedicated her career to residential property management, ensuring that others had a place to call home. In 2021, she became a snowbird and split her time between Avon Park, FL, and Cardington, OH, embracing a new chapter in life.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lurynda Christian (Steven) of Cardington, OH, Kasandra Gross (Brent) of Marion, OH, and Kimberly Carr of Marion, OH; her brother, Russell Rigney (Debbie) of Mt. Gilead, OH; as well as her five cherished grandchildren Michelle Moore, Nicholas Carr (Lyndsey), Logan Gross, Zackary Carr, and four great-grandchildren, along with several extended grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her son Peter VanDyke, and her grandson, Michael Christian.
Linda had a creative spirit and a kind heart. She found joy in arts and crafts, especially crochet, and expressed herself beautifully through poetry. A passionate reader, she found comfort and adventure in books. She also loved to cook and bake, sharing her delicious creations with family and friends. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose love and care will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Service, 440 Center Street in Cardington, with Pastor Doug Bryan officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the Morrow County Fairgrounds, Office Meeting Room following the service.
