Leonard L. Crum, age 84 of Ashley died on Friday, July 2, 2021, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1937, in Marion County to the late Joseph M. and Elsie P. (Ralph) Crum.
Leonard was a 1955 graduate of the Claridon High School. In his earlier days he was farmed his family's small farm. He also had worked at Whirlpool in Marion for many years as a floor supervisor until his retirement.
In his free time, Leonard enjoyed watching sporting events, both high school and college and would travel around the state to watch the games. He especially liked watching high school basketball games. Leonard also enjoyed attending horse auctions and the various county fairs. He was member of the Delaware Church of Christ.
Survivors include a nephew, Joel Burris of Maryland; niece, Lisa Smith of Oklahoma; cousin Karen (Walter) Benson of Mount Gilead and many other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Burris.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 7:00PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
