Larry T. Slauter, age 79 of Crestline, died Friday, November 13, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 29, 1941 in Ohio to the late Lawrence B. and Madelyn E. (Hightower) Slauter.
Larry was a graduate of Forest Lake Academy in Florida and Columbia Union College in Maryland. He worked for many years in the field of sales and marketing.
Larry’s hobbies included walking, camping, collecting antiques, and working on the house and yard. He enjoyed his trips to the grocery store and spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for family and friends. Larry loved to travel with his wife and their most notable trips were to Italy, Paris, and Florida. He also enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren.
On May 16, 1998 in Hilliard, Ohio Larry married Nida M. (Westbrook) and she survives in Crestline.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by 3 sons from his first marriage to Barbara (Meister) Slauter: Will Slauter of Paris, France, Eric Slauter of Illinois, and Ryan (Abby) Slauter of Florida; 2 step-daughters: Karri and Kim Davis of Hilliard and 7 grandchildren with 1 on the way.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Slauter.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation and the burial will follow in the Glendale Union Cemetery. A live stream of Larry’s funeral service will be shown on Facebook on the Gompf Funeral Service-Live page.
In accordance with the Governor’s mandate, masks will now be required to enter the funeral home.
