Larry G. Shoemaker, a loving father, grandfather, and brother age 66 of Fulton, died on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Morrow County Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1959, in Mt. Gilead to the late Richard L. Shoemaker and Marilyn J. (Longshore) Shoemaker.
Larry was a 1977 graduate of the Cardington Lincoln High School. Larry spent the majority of his career working as a machinist for HPM, where he was known for his skill, precision, and strong work ethic. He took pride in his work and was dedicated to his craft, contributing many years of reliable service to the company. Through his career at HPM, Larry earned the respect of his coworkers and built a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Larry was a true Harley-Davidson enthusiast who had a lifelong passion for all things motorcycles. He loved hitting the open road, often riding alongside his friends and enjoying the camaraderie that came with it. Whether it was riding, talking bikes, or admiring the craftsmanship of motorcycles, Larry found joy and freedom in the motorcycle lifestyle. He also enjoyed hunting in his younger years.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons: Joshua (Elizabeth) Shoemaker of Cardington, Justin Shoemaker of Waldo, and Zachary Shoemaker of Fulton; four grandchildren: Brianna Smith, Gabriella Shoemaker, Elaina Shoemaker, and Lincoln Shoemaker; one great-grandchild, Xavier Smith; and two siblings: Tony (Barb) Shoemaker and Cindy (Jerry) Weston, both of Cardington.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Ebersole.
A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Service, 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315. A graveside service will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
