Larry Gene McCreary

Larry G. McCreary, age 80 of Mount Gilead passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at his home. He was born on August 8, 1942, in Galion to Donald and Hazel E. (Smith) McCreary who preceded him in death.

Larry was the owner of McCreary's Body Shop from 1978 - 2011 when he retired.

Larry collected cap guns and western memorabilia. He enjoyed working on restoring his 1973 Ford F-100. Larry cherished spending time with his family. Larry was always creating and building things, he was very good with his hands.

On June 28, 1968, Larry married Diana L. Smith in Cardington, she survives in Mount Gilead.

In addition to his wife Diana, Larry is survived by his daughter Amy (Randy) Crist of Mount Gilead his son Michael McCreary of Marion, three grandchildren Aaron (Courtney) Murphy, Tyler Murphy and Dillon McCreary, two great-grandchildren Greyson and Beckham Murphy as well as his two sisters Diana (Joe) Cook of Mount Gilead and Carol (Tom) Simmons of Galion .

A graveside service will be held on Friday November 11, 2022, in Rivercliff Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Celebrant LeAnne Gompf officiating.
