Kermit “Duke” Birtcher, age 79, of Marengo passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Bennington Glenn Nursing Center. Duke was born on June 3, 1940 to the late Guy and Thelma (Duncan) Birtcher.

Duke worked in construction doing various jobs. He was a huge pool shark and had won lots of trophies in pool. Duke was always busy with his children and grandchildren and he loved his Pontiac Fiero.

On June 24, 1967 in Napoleon, OH, Duke married Cheryl Collins who preceded him in death in December 1974.

Duke is survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Craig) Benedict of Cardington; three grandchildren: Cassee Birtcher, Laren Benedict and Lacie Benedict, and a great-grandson, Jared Lewis.

In addition to his wife and parents, Duke was preceded in death by three sons, Rick, Guy, and Michael Birtcher, and a brother, Ernest Birtcher.
