Kenneth G. Osborne, 81, 396 Lee St., Mt. Gilead, passed peacefully in his sleep at home early Thursday morning, May 16th, 2024. He was born May 8th, 1943 in Wallins Creek, KY to the late Katherine and Carl G. Osborne, and moved to Cardington in 1952.
Upon graduating from Mt. Gilead High School, he began working at HPM, starting in maintenance, and subsequently serving as the plant superintendent. After retiring from HPM, he took on a second career as the "sexy receptionist" at H&R Block in Mt. Gilead. If you were ever around him, no doubt he made you smile, as his personality was infectious.
His passions were golf and music, and he spent as much time as possible on the course with Betty. Although he worked in a factory, in his heart, he was a rock star in the Outcasts, his band from the '60s.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Carl Osborne, as well as by his brother Williard "Dean" Osborne. He is survived by his sister Carla Hankins of Delaware, and brother Charles Daniel (Charlie) Osborne of Yuba City, CA. Also surviving are his wife of nearly 59 years, Betty Osborne, sons Damon (Angie, children Lily and Boston), Randy (Tonya, children Chaz Wyatt, Billijo Bumgardner, Korri Wyatt, and Ana Osborne), and Jay (Brenda), and a wealth of great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ken's life will be held at the Mt. Gilead State Park, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th.
Gompf Funeral Service of Cardington is honored to have been chosen to assist the Osborne family with Kenneth's final wishes and condolences may be expressed at www.gompffh.com.
