Kelly Nunn Obituary

Kelly Anne Nunn, 65, of Mount Gilead, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2026.

Born on March 30, 1961, Kelly was a 1979 graduate of Galion High School. After graduation, she worked for the State of Ohio before dedicating herself to raising her two daughters. As a stay-at-home mom, she volunteered for school events and created countless memories filled with laughter, music, and love. Whether it was trips to the skating rink, long pool days with friends or elaborate cooking, Kelly had a special way of making everyday moments unforgettable.

Later in life, Kelly worked in manufacturing, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication.

Nothing, however compared to her love for her grandchildren- she was a devoted Mimi who never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren, celebrate their milestones, or spoil them with treats. Her love for them knew no bounds and her greatest happiness came from simply being present in their lives.

Kelly was also an avid animal lover to all animals but especially her cats, Sir Oliver and Sadie Marie. They were thoroughly spoiled, generously fed and deeply loved by her. She also loved caring for plants and often shared them with her daughters. Her faith was reflected in the way she lived-loving her neighbors, checking on those in need, and making everyone around her feel valued and cared for. She never wanted anyone to go without and always found ways to make people feel special.

Kelly is survived by her daughters, Carly (William IV) Jackson and Macy (Cody) Jackson; her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Khloe, William V, Katherine ("Katie"), Henry, and Claire Jackson; her sister and best friend, Kathleen "Kath" Finck; as well as her siblings Lauren Mainini, Erin Cockley, Rich Axline, Michael Axline, Maurni McCarthy and Leslee Cotter; her Mother Constance A. Axline and many beloved family members and friends.

Kelly was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Elizabeth C. "Betty" Smith and "Pappi" Deane C. Smith. She treasured her childhood memories with them, especially the days spent playing beneath their weeping willow tree.

Kelly will be remembered for her authentic spirit, infectious laughter, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her kindness, compassion, and joy.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be announced at a later date. To honor Kelly's memory we ask you to consider donating to an animal shelter, planting a flower or sharing kindness with a stranger.

Gompf Funeral Service of Cardington is honored to have been chosen to assist Kelly's family. Condolences may be expressed to her family at www.gompffh.com.
