Kathleen Mae (Kennedy) Hack, 78, went to be with her Lord early Wednesday morning, Dec. 17th 2025, surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband.
Youngest of 5 children she was born on May 15th, 1947, to Harold and Marcina Kennedy in Marion, Ohio.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard Hack, on March 30th, 1974; after knowing him for most of her life.
Kathie led a beautiful life of grace and sass. She loved the sunshine and enjoyed soaking it in as often as she could. She worked on the flower barrels through Cardington with her husband Richard and helped him in the Glendale cemetery.
Throughout her life she cleaned homes and worked at All Occasions Gift shop in Cardington where she made friends and loved spending time. When they could sneak away, family trips to the ocean brought her heart so much joy.
Kathie loved her family greatly. Blessed to be a homemaker she raised her 3 children with grace. Once the children were grown and having families of their own she spent many years helping raise her grandchildren; which created a deep bond with each one of them. Hours of baking, reading, walking, and shopping created beautiful memories that will forever be cherished.
Her aprons were worn while preparing every large family dinner and used to protect her beautiful attire that she took pride in.
There was always a full cookie jar and inviting smell coming from the kitchen. She was an avid baker and with a “little of this and that” she made some of the best dishes to fill bellies.
Although our hearts are shattered by Kathie’s passing, we can find peace in knowing that she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, with perfect health. She was joyously reunited with her father and mother, her brothers Donald and Robert Kennedy, her sisters Audrey Anspach and Linda Buchanan and she is the first to hold her great grandchild Baby Kimes. We know she was surrounded by loved ones as they greeted her at the gates of Heaven and we will one day meet again.
Kathie’s memories will be cherished by those who dearly miss her. Her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Hack; son David (Lisa) Baker; daughter Marcina (Eric) Long; daughter Samantha (Brad) Browning; grandchildren Kaylee (Micah) Swanson; Zachary (Taylor) Baker; Jacob (Delisa) Long; Hannah (Micheal) Kimes; Elizabeth (Preston) Long; Brandon (Madison) Browning; Kayla and Kenzie Browning. Also her 5 great grandchildren Elisha and Piper Swanson; Arrow, Juniper and Cypress Baker.
A celebration of her life will be held at Gilead Friends Church on January 10th, 2026.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with a service to follow. All services will be held in the old chapel.
Gompf Funeral Service of Cardington is honored to have been chosen to assist the Hack family. Condolences may be expressed to her family at www.gompffh.com.
