Kathleen Grace Cooper

Kathleen G. Cooper, age 82 of Mount Gilead, died on Thursday, March7, 2024, at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She was born on March 26, 1941, in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Carl T. and Anna B. (Flaherty).

Kathleen was a 1960 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School. After graduation she went on to the Mt. Carmel College of Nursing where she obtained her nursing degree.

After receiving her nursing degree, Kathleen dedicated over three decades of her life to the medical industry as a nurse at Mt. Carmel Hospital, where she brought comfort and healing to countless patients. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her career, as she later found fulfillment working for the State of Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation until her well-deserved retirement.

Kathleen was a faithful member of the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. A proud supporter of her family, Kathleen found joy in attending her nieces and nephews' sporting events, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. In her leisure time, she enjoyed the thrill of golfing and was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, proudly displaying her scarlet and gray spirit. Kathleen had a love for travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories.

Left to cherish Kathleen's memory are her two brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Cooper and Doit (Judy) Cooper; as well as several nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Carl and Anna Cooper, Kathleen was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Cooper.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Gompf Funeral Service; 440 Center St. Cardington. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10:00am, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church; 4680 St. Rt. 42. The burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
