Joyce A. Corwin, age 75 of Caledonia died on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 31, 1950, in Amherstdale, WV to the late Erschel and Amma P. (Collins) Hunt.
Joyce was a 1968 graduate of the Cardington Lincoln High School and went on to get her associated degree in nursing. Joyce dedicated her life to caring for others through a long and compassionate career in nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she served patients at several hospitals throughout her career, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and families alike through her professionalism, kindness, and unwavering commitment to quality care. In addition to her hospital work, Joyce found great fulfillment in providing home health services with Med One Care, where she was able to bring comfort, support, and personalized care directly to patients in their homes. Her nursing career reflected her selfless nature and deep passion for helping others, leaving a lasting impact on the countless lives she touched.
On September 7, 1969, Joyce married Joseph B. Corwin and he survives in Caledonia. Together they spent 56 wonderful years of marriage together.
In addition to her husband Joe, Joyce is survived by her two children: Patrick (Darla) Corwin of Wilmington and Colleen (Tim) Waddle of Marion; three siblings: Leroy (Theresa) Hunt of Marion, Tom (Ann) Hunt of Georgia, and Jeff Hunt of Ashley; six grandchildren: Monica (Justin) Hensley, Brittney (Chris) Demma, Tiffany (Benzil) Estridge, Jessika Corwin, MeLynn Corwin, and Amber (Matt) Ruggles; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kent Spann officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
