Josephine "Jo" (Caudill) Vermillion

Josephine "Jo" Vermillion, age 73 of Ashley passed way Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Grady Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 1, 1948, in Viper, KY. to Harlan and Mattie (Hammitt) Caudill who preceded her in death.

Jo was a 1968 graduate of Highland High School. She then went on to work in Home Health Care. She was a member of the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church.

Jo was a devoted Christian and was very involved with her church. She enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers, doing crafts, and sewing. Her greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren.

On October 4, 1974, Jo married Daniel Lee Vermillion in Mount Liberty, Ohio, he survives in Ashley.

In addition to her husband Dan, Jo is survived by her son James Vermillion of Ashley, four grandchildren: Katie Jo (Taylor) Hovis, Dylan, Alex, and Emily Vermillion; two great-grandchildren Tatum and Summer Hovis; brother Darrell (Connie) Caudill of Viper, KY., sister Pat (Doug) Baron of Johnsville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her lifelong friends Judy Davis and Judy Coffee.

In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her son Leland Vermillion, four brothers Charles, James, Astor and Stevie Caudill: her sister Maerene Caudill, and niece Shannon Rae.

A graveside service will take place Monday August 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
