J. Wayne Fuller, age 92 of Delaware passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 27, 1933, in Dickerson County, VA, to the late Silas K. and Clara (Edwards) Fuller.
Wayne attended Hayeside High School in Virginia before moving to Ohio, where he graduated from Marengo High School in 1952. Following graduation, he began his career with HPM, where he worked as a serviceman for 46 years, and was known for his work ethic. He went to work in the stock room and was there 7 years, then was in the erecting room seven 7 before being assigned to the road as a service man for 7 ½ years. In 1974 he was moved to the position of service coordinator working from an office where he was a trouble shooter, solving problems which involved the molding, die cast, and extruder presses.
Wayne had a love of music and enjoyed playing the guitar in his Bluegrass band, Sugar Creek Grass for over 26 years. He really enjoyed gardening, making sure he planted his vegetables every year. Wayne also loved taking trips to Bob Evans with his wife Jane and sisters, Ruth and Carol. One of Wayne's most enjoyable pleasures was his nightly Klondike Bar. He was also a man of faith.
On April 3, 1954, Wayne married the love of his life, E. Jane Fuller, and she survives in Delaware.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Rick Fuller, Barb Waddell, and Jodi Rogers; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Ruth Pillow and Carol Reed.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers: Roger Lee Fuller and Eugene Fuller, and sister, Mavis Sutherland.
Friends may call on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10:00 to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will follow immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ed Colegrove officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
