John R. Diver, age 65, of Cardington passed away on Wednesday. October 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 29, 1960, in Dayton to the late Richard W. and Phyllis M. (Cook) Diver.
John was skilled and creative; he had a natural talent for working with his hands. He had attended Highland High School, and later he worked as a small engine repairman, capable of fixing anything with a small engine. Known as a 'jack of all trades, master of none,' John's versatility extended beyond engines. He had a deep love for tinkering, recycling items, and bringing new life to them. His passion for woodworking also allowed him to create many beautiful and functional pieces.
John is survived by his children; Johnna (Jonathan Reeves) Diver of Cardington, and Amanda (James) Jones of Mount Victory; his grandchildren: Jayce, Norah and Enzley Reeves, Ryan Mowers, and Abagail, J.J, and Andrew Jones; his sister Connie (Tom) Shaffer of Germantown; nieces and nephews: Jason Webb, Joan Wehr, Emma Wehr, Erin Shaffer and Adam Shaffer.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters Lynn Combs, Jennie Wehr and Cherie Diver; as well as his nephews: Chane and Curtis Combs.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Mount Gilead State Park, Shelter House 1, 4353 State Route 95, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338 form 10:00 AM to 4:00PM. Following the celebration of life a gathering for all other family and friends will take place at the Diver residence.
