JoAnna "Sue" (Cooper) Nippert

JoAnna "Sue" Nippert, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, age 75 of Sunbury passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Country View of Sunbury. She was born on September 27, 1950, in Columbus to the late Aurice and Arvilla (Conrad) Cooper.

Sue was a proud 1968 graduate of Walnut Ridge High School and continued her education through college courses. She devoted much of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker while also building a successful career as a realtor for more than 23 years. A faithful member of Grace Polaris Church, Sue shared her talents through the church's Living Christmas Tree program, where she enjoyed singing. Sue enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking, and was especially well known for "Sue's Sweets," which were loved by many. Sue also had a caring heart for children and families and served as a foster parent for several years.

On August 23, 1969, Sue married Thomas Nippert in Columbus. Thomas survives in Sunbury.

In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by their children: John (Mandy) Nippert of Cardington and Kimberly (Bill) Hibbits of Centerburg; seven grandchildren; Anna Hibbits, Joseph Hibbits (Kara), Sarah Morland (Austin), Isaiah Nippert, Levi Nippert, Avaya Hibbits, and Samuel Nippert; one great-grandson; Graham Hibbits; and sister-in-law Janet Cooper.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her siblings: Margaret Davis (Joseph), Jane Conley (Richard) and Conrad Cooper.

Friends may call on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grace Polaris Church, 8225 Worthington Galena Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081, with the funeral directly following at 11:00 AM with Pastor Zac Hess officiating. The graveside service will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery, 105 Glendale Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315 at 1:00 PM.
