Jimmy Lynn Clinger

Jim Clinger passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the age of 69, following a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. Jim was born September 11, 1954, to Frances Ebert Clinger and Donald George Clinger.

Jim graduated from Cardington-Lincoln High School in 1972. On November 8, 1974, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Rose Mary Fisher, and she survives.

Jim worked 20 years at Fairfield Engineering and 24 years at Macola Software before his retirement. He proudly served 24 years on the Cardington-Lincoln School Board, never missing a meeting, and 9 years on the Tri-Rivers School Board. Born and raised in Cardington, he was proud to volunteer in many capacities in both the community and the school. Jim was an avid welder and creator of junk art, collector of unique things, M.A.S.H. enthusiast, and loved puttering around in his garage.

He is survived by daughters Megan Clinger and Sarah (Steve) Clinger-Grzeskowiak; grandchildren Rue Grzeskowiak, Faye Grzeskowiak, and Jamison Clinger; sister Vickie (Jim) Ullom, brother Ben (Robin) Clinger, brother-in-law Tom (Deb Rohrbach) Fisher, brother-in-law David (Suzanne) Fisher, and brother-in-law Jim Fisher; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Frances Ebert Clinger, father Donald George Clinger, his infant son, sister-in-law Pam Foltz Clinger, sister-in-law Joy Fisher and sister-in-law Jeanne Ann Fisher.

The family has created a scholarship fund on behalf of Jim for students at the Cardington-Lincoln High School. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made on Venmo @JimClingerScholarship or checks can be made out to Rose Mary Clinger and mailed to 5163 Township Road 132, Cardington, OH 43315. Contributions can also be made to OSU's MMORE for Multiple Myeloma Research fund at Multiple Myeloma Research Fund

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Cardington First Methodist Church, 300 S. Marion St, Cardington, on Sunday, October 29th from 2:30-5:30pm. The family will observe a private graveside service at Glendale Union Cemetery at a later date.
