Jerry Wayne Stone Sr.

Jerry W. Stone Sr., age 78 of Caledonia, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. He was born on January 16, 1948, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Jim and Betty (Allen) Stone.

Jerry was a graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana. He joined the United States Army and worked construction. He retired from the military after serving for over twenty years. Jerry had more recently worked for Cardington Schools as the Janitorial Supervisor and as a sub bus driver when needed until his retirement.

On January 17, 1969, Jerry married Diane Lynn Waddell in Cardington. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2020. Jerry married Jeanie Kay on December 19, 2024, in Caledonia, where she survives.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his three children: Jerry (Crystal) Stone Jr. of Bucyrus, Ohio and Jeff (Trish) Stone of Caledonia and Amy (Amy Berkshire) Stone of Marion; stepchildren: Jody Hawk and Daniele Burkhart; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his brothers: Timmy (Ellen) Stone and Johnny (Lois) Stone.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Jerry was preceded in death by his siblings; Jimmy Stone, Barbara Stone and Brenda Gray.

Friends may call on Tuesday May 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington, with full military honors starting at 7:00 PM.
