Jerry Stephen Cowgill

Jerry S. Cowgill, age 66 of Cardington died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at his home. He was born on February 17,1955, in Christiansburg, Ohio to Howard and Doris (Estep) Cowgill who preceded him in death.

Jerry was a 1974 graduate of Brookhaven High School in Columbus, Ohio. Jerry had served honorably in the United States Marine Corp. Jerry worked for Union 372 for over 30 years. Jerry enjoyed walking the dog, golfing, and fishing. He also loved Myrtle Beach or being at any beach in general. If there was one thing that Jerry loved, it was a good meal.

On July 11, 1976, Jerry married Charlotte Kaye Commeans in Columbus, Ohio at Indianola Church of Christ, she survives in Cardington.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his son Scott (Lynnette) Cowgill of Centerburg, grandchildren Christopher Cowgill of Miami FL., Preston Cowgill of Lancaster, Triston Cowgill of Centerburg, his sister Regina Ballenger of Newark, and brother Brian Cowgill of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother Howard Cowgill.

Friends may call on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Al Perry officiating. Full military honors will take place at the conclusion of the service.
