Jayson E. Axthelm, age 33 of Marion died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was born on July 22, 1988, in Mount Gilead to Jay E. Axthelm and Michelle "Shelly" E. (Bogard) Walls.
Jayson was a 2006 graduate of the Cardington Lincoln High School. He also attended Tri-Rivers Career Center and was enrolled in the Auto Body program. Jayson was a mechanic and welder/fabricator by trade.
Jayson enjoyed working in his father's shop. He had a lot of innovative ideas and loved figuring out how to make things work. He was a good mechanic, fabricator, and welder. He spent a lot of time with his family and friends. Riding motorcycles has been his passion since he was a toddler.
In addition to his parents Jayson is survived by a sister Kaci Winchell, Tampa, FL, his brother Chase A. Johonson, Florida, grandfather, Roy A Bogard, Marion Ohio and grandmother, Cheryl A Bogard, Zephyrhills Florida, Aunt Hannah Bogard, Fulton, Ohio, Uncle Jon Axthelm and Aunt Bev Harvey Axthelm, Cardington Ohio, cousins Jonda Axthelm, Marion, Ohio and Jeff Axthelm, Cardington, Ohio; his nieces Peyton Suzanne Axthelm and Riley Mae Axthelm and his cousins Alan Lee Bumgardner, Ohio, and Roy Daniel Bumgardner, Florida.
Jayson was preceded in death by grandparents, Ed and Betty Jo Axthelm and aunt, Crystal (Bogard) Bumgardner.
A celebration of life for Jayson will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center St. Cardington, Ohio 43315.
