Janice S. McLain, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister and friend, age 75 of Fulton, passed away Tuesday August 19th, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 10, 1950, in Galion to the late Nelson E. and Irene M. (Blosier) Garverick.
Janice graduated from Cardington-Lincoln High School in 1969. She had worked for Western Auto, Advanced Auto Parts and most recently Jegs in Delaware until her retirment as an order picker. Janice was a member of Vessel Community Church. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
Janice enjoyed the outdoors, spending 14 years camping and providing karaoke at the campground. In her younger years she liked riding on the motorcycle with her husband and was more recently known for driving the golf cart around Fulton with their dog Mia. She enjoyed various sports, from bowling to archery and golf. Janice found joy in her annual yard sale, thrifting and refinishing antique furniture, transforming forgotten pieces into treasures. She loved making Christmas cookies for her family and friends.
On June 29, 1970, Janice married Darrell McLain at the Nazarene Church in Fulton, he survives in Fulton.
In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by her daughters Collie (Mike) Tucker and Katrinia McLain, both of Fulton; four grandchildren: Karlissa (Danielle) Treboni, Trey (Kirsten) Osborn, Courtney (Cole) Blackwell, and Trent (Sydney) Tucker; five great grandchildren; as well as her three sisters: Sandy Klopfenstein, Evelyn Boyd both Crestline and Gracie Williams of Mount Gilead.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her two sisters Jean Hemlick and Mary Huffman, and her two brothers Herbert Garverick and Billy Garverick.
Friends may call on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington, with the funeral service directly following at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jesse McLeod officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Fulton Cemetery.
