James "Jim" L. Beatty, age 92 of Cardington passed away on June 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 29, 1934, in Cardington to the late Walter F. and Leola L. (Holt) Beatty.
Jim was a 1952 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School and joined the United States Navy and served from 1957-1959 until he was honorably discharged. He had worked as an assembler and machinist at Galion Iron Works, that then turned into the Dresser and later became Kamatzu.
Jim enjoyed spending his free time golfing, bowling, and watching drag racing. Whether on the golf course, at the bowling alley, watching at the racetrack, he found great joy in the activities he loved.
On October 1, 1960, Jim married the love of his life, Nancy P. (Faust), in Monroe, Michigan. Together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on family and love. Nancy preceded him in death on November 19, 2025.
Jim is survived by their two sons: David and Bryan (Renee) Beatty, both of Cardington.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Jim was preceded in death by their baby Karen Sue Beatty, and his siblings Walter Beatty, Claudia McLain, Beulah Smith, Richard Beatty, Mildred Shoop, Marjorie Bunnell, and Charles Beatty.
