James William Corbitt Sr., age 85 long time Marion area resident died Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1935 In Spencer, West Virginia, the son of, Isner Lacon and Orla Grace (Connolly) Corbitt who preceded him in death.
After graduating from Cardington High School, Class of 1954, James worked for The North Electric MFG. CO. for three years. James then took a Drafting position with Whirlpool Corp. Marion. After three years he was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor. After working there for 34 years, James retired in 1990. Then worked for three years at the Dryper Plant in Marion.
James was active in the community over the years, he was a member of the Eleven Meter Radio Club of Marion County, Marion Moose Lodge 889, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Galion, Ohio, and
V.F.W. Post 7201 of Marion. James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He enjoyed and will be missed by his children Denise (Corbitt) Roach of Alvarado, TX.,
Dana (Corbitt) Matthews of Carlisle, KY, James Corbitt Jr. of Sun City, AZ., Todd Corbitt of Shelby, Misty (Corbitt) Powell of Marion and Pamela (Edwards) Sayre of Marion.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter Debra Corbitt.
He left behind a brother Robert Corbitt of Deerfield, Ohio. A sister Carol (Corbitt) Masters, Ocala, FL. He also leaves behind his companion of many years, Barbara Feustel-Rush.
A graveside memorial service for James will be held on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at 1:00P.M. in the Glendale Cemetery in Cardington.
