James Edward Cochran

James E. Cochran, age 85 of Ashley passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at his residence. He was born on April 25, 1937, in Croton to the late Robert L. and Clara M. (Theada) Cochran.

James had worked for Dennis Hydraulics for over 20 years. He used to be an over the road truck driver and had worked on various farms. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. Spending time with his family was very important to him as his world revolved around them.

On February 14, 1976, James married Mary M. (Martin) in Morrow County. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2017.

Left to cherish James's memory is his children Robert (Shelli) Cochran of Glouster, and Jimmy Cochran of Radnor, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his siblings Mary Medors, Shirley Riggs, Betty Curtis, and Richard Cochran.

In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his children Cole Cochran, Sarah Reese, and Lorna Cochran.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. The funeral service will directly follow at 1:00 PM. Following the service, the burial will take place in Ashley Cemetery.
