Jacqueline "Jackie" Mae Winchell, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 10, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late John K. and Rhoda M. (Bedilion) Mason. Jackie dedicated her life to uplifting those around her. Jackie and Charles raised their family in Cardington where she was a cherished member of the community.
Jackie was a 1953 graduate of Cardington-Lincon High School. She was proud of her work as an interviewer. Her compassion and understanding left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was an active member of the Pythian Sisters since 1960, contributing to her community with kindness and grace. Additionally, Jackie found solace in her faith as a member of the local Methodist Church, where she formed deep connections and friendships over the years.
Jackie married Charles Winchell in 1955 in Mount Gilead, he preceded her in death.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Char (Dale) Osborn of Marion; her five grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and her dear sister, Delores Beck. Each one of her family members was forever enriched by her unwavering support and love.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Jackie was preceded in death by her son Brian Winchell, her brother, William Mason, and sister, Joan Wade.
Friends may call on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Cardington Community Methodist Church, 300 South Marion Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315 with the funeral service directly following at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Carpenter officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Glendale Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to Wings of an Angel/ Rise, Nate's Day Program, 2813 Gooding Road, Marion, Ohio 43302 or to Cardington Pool, P.O. Box 10, Cardington, Ohio 43315, to assist with swim lessons.
